Skyrim has been inspiring. So much to do and see, although there are a few strange inconsistencies so far. I just appreciate that demon lords treat all of their opponents as equal, be they rat or dragon or bandit. Dremora lords are just real go-getters.

I wanted to do some jungle texture, and the yellow helps bring that out even within the basic canopy silhouette. Foreground elements were deleted. I like it with just the sky and jungle.

As finished as I care to make it at least. Softened the stroke, took out the incredible darkness of the right eye socket, adjusted some shadows. It could have more subtle lighting, but I have other things to do today besides portraits practice.

Dream soda of the day

Okay, so there's a story behind this one. I had a dream last night, where I was in this dusty bar in the middle of the desert. I'm with someone, but I don't remember if it was a real person or just a dream person. In any case, I find this jar in the fridge inside, and it's got half a pickle, and all this seaweed and sauerkraut floating around inside. The label claims it's "Efram's homemade soda" or something similar to that. It also costs ten dollars. The barkeep says its the manliest soda he's got.

At first I say, no way am I paying ten dollars for a jar of old soda. But then I get curious, and I buy it. At this point, there are some old classmates and random people sitting in the bar, and they want a taste. The person I came in with wants a try. So I give him the first sip, and he claims its strong after tasting it and pausing. Then I take a swig.
It is sour. Like super sour. It doesn't just pucker your lips, it puckers your entire mouth. Like I couldn't move my throat at all. If you try to inhale while burping, its like that. It actually woke me up. So I had to paint it.

I think this may be the first time I've dreamt a flavor.

If you live in San Francisco, you might have seen this ad of women on the beach pasted over the sides of the MUNI busses. It's unfortunate that the lady's neck on the left side of the picture lines up so perfectly with the windows that open. This is a diagram of that.

I wanted to create an ant warrior, and figured it'd be better to have a man with some ant-like armor and hat then try to anthropomorphize an insect. There's a whole idea behind this guy, but that's for another place. The background is just abstract shapes.

There is just something about knights and warriors that keeps me coming back. I imagine this guy as a medieval knight who's survived the apocalypse and is helping re-create the ruined world, with all this abandoned, useless technology around him. Knowing knights, he's probably going somewhere to do something.
